Recipes - with a twist!
A Recipe for a Class

Start with a splash of smart students and

Caramelise caring children
Sprinkle super science books
Remember roll written work
And bind and blend lunches.

Whisk in some teachers and helpers
Add a dollop of dictionaries
Whip up a whiteboard
Dice and dip displays
Drizzle dust around the desks.

Sizzle stories happily
Scoop and scatter happiness
Put a dab of fun and
Roast the schoolbags well
Finally heat up a heap of hush!

Stir in a castle , a mall and A Bridge

Sprinkle with motors, scooters and bikes
Dice in some dogs, ditches and dirt
Mix in men, mice and molehills

Roll out rivers, rocks and restaurants
Bake for three hours
Serve with care, joy and fun.

Recipe for a friend

Start with a Hand- full of happiness,
Pour lots and lots of playfulness,
Chop some caring word,
Melt some joyfulness.

Add some laughter,
A scoop of kindness,
Sweeten some helpfulness for you,
Dollop lots of delight.

Fill the bowl with feelings,
Spoon-full of silly stuff,
Whisk in some pride,
Sizzle some sport and a medal or
two.

Smidge of boastful,
Mix in some music,
Melt the sorrow,
Bake with lots of love.

Recipe for a . . . . . . .Class

Take a teaspoon of maths games
Dollop a colourful collage
Season some well mannered children
Knead a bookcase and
Put in some interesting fairytales
Smother some artwork all around
Pop in a star chart with stickers
Whisk up a teacher with marking
And scoop in a pencil case or two

Complete with some computers
A drizzle of kindness
Drain out a few pairs of curtains
Cover the windows with lovely light
Serve the children with some smartness
inside
Soak in a strip of madness
Poach in the cupboard a roll of dictionaries
Chop up a bucket of pencil to spare . . .
And that's your class all ready to share.

The Magic Box

I will put in my box
The hope of my hyper dog prancing
through
a magical meadow.
The cheeping and chattering of
kayaking
birds.
Ascents floating around like wishes in
the air

I will put in my box
The soft lions mane, safari sun and
glistening stars.
The love of dancing and jumping on
fluffy clouds
A skip a scamp a hullabaloo leap as
if on the moon

I will put in my box
The swishing of clarinet music
The song of the waves
A sprinkle of spontaneous spices
speaking softly

I will put in my box
Precious gems and lava rock
that can break as easy as glass
Peaceful stomping dinosaurs
Sweet fruits and brill berries

My box is covered in sweets and
marshmallows
The hinges are made from solid gold
and elephant tusks
I would love to keep it on the clouds

Where it will stay forever more

"Magic Box" poems
The Magic Box

I will put in my box
sizzling sandstorms around the desert
erupting lava from a revolting volcano
and thunder and lightning through the
meadow.

I will in put my box
massive Mount Everest melting from a
meteor
and a glance of a glacier got from the
earth's core
a turqoise water earthquake.

I will put in the box
A milky way in the sea while a shark is
on mars
a dragon drumming in the sky
and dinosaurs bulging through the
forests.

My box is made from
lava and rock
I will keep it in the core
with secrets and wishes.
