What Is The Answer To …? Why is the nature green? In the wonderful, attractive scene? Who made the numbers go on? Until the scratch of dawn? When did life begin? When did sin come in? Why do stones lie? And who makes people die? How do birds sing? And how do bees sting? How do angels fly? Up in the sky so high? I wonder what is the answer to… by Carly and Jasmine |
Why oh why? Why are the trees so big and brown? No one told me so I gave a frown. Why is water so very wet? Why do we have animals called pets? Why is the sky so blue and high? Why are birds able to fly? Why is the sun so big and bright? Why do lions give a fright? Why is the desert so dry and hot? Why do birds sometimes get shot? Why does space never end? Why don't tree trunks curve and bend? Why are tortoises so very slow? Why don't mice never grow? Why Oh Why Oh Why ? By Callum and Harry |
Room 21 poetry - More questions than answers? |
Exploring the Castle Grounds |
Some pictures taken during our P6 exploration of the nearby Antrim Castle grounds. There is so much history and science right on our doorstep! |
Mind Mapping! |
We designed these mind maps about ourselves. We described our personalities and talked about what we like to do. |
We studied Henri Rousseau and used pastels to create our own jungle flowers. |
We are doing lots of thinking about thinking in room 21! |
Our class was studying Europe. We had a class vote and decided to learn more about France. We talked about what we knew and what we wanted to find out. We have been lucky enough to have a French visitor called Marie, who is teaching us lots of French words. |
We made spiral mobiles to show the butterfly life cycle. |
A Viking Dig! |
As part of our history topic on the Vikings, our class took part in a "Viking Dig". We learned about how carefully archaeologists must work when they dig for remains! |
Lessons from Winnie the Pooh |
Some pictures from our "Lessons from Winnie the Pooh" assembly. |

"The Magic Box" - some of our poems. |
My Magical Box I will put in my box A sparkling twinkle of a shooting star A bright and mysterious glow of a moon The sweetness of red and white roses. I will put in my box The echoing sound of a sweet robin singing The sound of the waterfall splashing in the river The laughing sound of dashing dolphins. I will put in my box The passion of which I love my granny The wonderful barking of a pup The magical dust of a fairy. I will put in box A minuscule mouse holding an enormous elephant in the windy air A golden tree of good luck A yummy taste of chocolate My box will be a ruby shape And it will be made of gold and silver With moons in each corners and sealed With a golden keyhole. I will keep it in my dreams of secrets where no one will see it. By Sophie -Leigh |

It is trimmed with marshmallows and decorated with smarties and dazzling sugar. It is fastened together with tigers claws forever. By Jasmine |
The magic box I will put in my box A monkey swinging from vine to vine The taste of honeycomb ice-cream The sight of birds flying in the sky I will put in my box The leaves falling from trees in autumn air A lion walking on his head in the jungle grounds The relish of my mum's rice crispy buns I will put in my box A sixth sense and a talking mouse The sight of flowers A person that could fly through the sky I will put in my box An elephant that can speak The taste of chocolate marshmallows A blue sun and a yellow sky My box is made of Gold and silver metal With pictures of birds and trees The hinges are made of lion's teeth And I lock it with a golden key. I would hide it at the end of a rainbow. By Stephen |
The Magic Box I will put in my box A scarlet rose shining in the glittering sun The gentle nuzzle of my puppy's sable nose And a field of sugary sweet plants. I will put in my box A gorgeous garden of glittery golden plants The breathing of a pink pixie And a smile of an amber foal. I will put in my box The clinking of a fairy's wonderful wand A silver lake with a bed of fish And the thought of a dragon's wish. I will put in my box The icy cackle of a hyena's laugh A bag of pretty, pink presents And a brown chocolate bath. My box is fashioned with sequins of every shape and size. The corners are a hazel colour like a lion's dazzling eyes. I'll keep my box in the white, winter snow. And that's a place only I will know. By Caitlyn Gilliland |
The magic box I will put in my box A monkey swing on long swaying branches Clouds from a net scooped from the sky A rainforest filled with flying birds and praying mantises I will put in my box The sweet smell of lavender The brightness of the cherry tree standing proud to be in my magic box The sound of church bells chiming as the day strikes My box is made from silver metal and hinges are joined together with shark teeth The lock is made from a witch's broomstick I am going to put my box on the tip of Mount Everest. The Magic Box I will put in my box the sent of brand new roses in summer, the warmness of love of a new born baby, the sparkle of a wand on a cold winter's night. I will put in my box Sliding down a rainbow and finding a pot of gold, the fluttering wings of a butterfly and the brightness of snow on a winters day. I will put in my box The smiles of my family on Christmas morning, the excitement on my dad's face when Man U win, me laughing like a hyena at my brother's cheesy grin. My box is made from Chocololate held together by red liquorice sticks and nailed together by sabre tooth tiger teeth Decorated with marshmallows and swets I shall bury it in the heart of Antarctica, and I may call it a name. The Magic box I will put in the box. My pups as playful as a kitten. My rainbow leading to the never ending gold. Sweets as hot as a hot chocolate. I will put in the box.
